Skywatch Friday

I was asking my son who is working in the city about the street trees where he lives. He lives in a town in New South Wales. Where we are I have been watching the prunus we are lucky enough to still have despite one street having them removed since we have lived here. Streets in our hometown that still had nearly all of their prunus left were gorgeous. The last house we lived in there had one outside our house, and I didn't realise they do bear plums.

Anyway, this was his answer to how the prunus flowers were coming out. Yesterday ours looked like they were nearly fully out. One photo has no sky in it, but I'll claim it goes with the other photo.

A clear sky but nevertheless made beautiful with the flowers on the foregound.

Looks very spring-y and fresh with the clear sky beyond!

Gorgeous photos! We used to live in Ballarat Victoria and one of my favourite times of the year was when all the fruit trees blossomed. I had a little cherry tree in the middle of my herb garden and I used to sit on my verandah, willing it to begin to bloom. The flowers are so softly coloured and delicate - make you feel all feminine or something?! Anyway, thanks for bringing back nice memories!

Lovely spring blossoms, Linda. Are prunus the street plantings that have deep purple leaves?
