Growing Old Gracefully

Happy Girls II

A few weeks ago, or more, I was in the doctor's office. Actually I was in the nurses office, because in our hospital we are screened by a nurse sometimes and if it is bad we get the doctor on call, or wait until tomorrow. I was going to wait until the next day, but had a good visit with the nurse and then saw the doctor.

Anyway, you may ask, why don't I go to a normal doctor. Well I do, they are in the hospital and bulk bill, there are no others.

In the nurses office there was a booklet about menopause, I thought if I read it I may start to get a clue. Very confusing really. Then I read an old book from the 70s just to see what it said. Don't think I need a clue, just thought maybe I should read something just in case I should.

Lots of other thoughts have been going around my mind. But today my daughter put these words from Need to Breathe on her Facebook page, I particularly like the first four lines.

Let us love
Like we were children
Make us feel
Like we’re still living
In a world I know that’s burning to the ground
Give us time
To beat the system
Make us find
What we’ve been missing
In a world I know that’s burning to the ground

The song is called Let Us Love.

Love the lines from that poem. :)

My mother always said "screw growing old gracefully, I'm going to fight it kicking and screaming"

I think that backfired on her a little bit.

I'm going to shoot for graceful. We'll see how that works out for me.
