Skywatch Friday ~ December 5

Another "victim" of my husband's photo taking in Bundoora, a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Yes, another cocky photo or two. The proper title Sulphur Crested Cockatoo. It is sitting in a wattle tree.

We have HUNDREDS of those birds around here. They fgeast on the tiny pine cones and make a mess and they are so noisy but they look great in photographs!!!

Very cool photos! I've never seen these in the wild - only in pet stores here. It's nice to see!
Nature is truly beautiful! Happy weekend! Hope you can have time to visit my corner too...

We've had plenty of cockatoos and galahs lately. Great photos.

Lovely photos, I have never seen those birds in the wild either.

I've never seen one of those, but I've heard the name. It looks like a sort of clumsy bird, probably like our anhingas in south Florida.

Hi Linda

Yeah, what is it with feeling Blaaagh all the time?? I just have no energy and could quite literally fall into bed mid afternoon! Hopefully a quiet weekend will fix me up.

Love the cockies....we have those white correllas that swarm in their hundreds. They roost in the gum trees next to our house and make an awful din from about 5am onwards then they come back at about 5 in the afternoon. They are slowing stripping the gums of leaves and they have started to die. Buggers!

Have a good one..

Cheers - Joolz

I have only seen one flock of correllas, which was here probably four or five years ago.

How amazing to see a cockatoo in the wild. Wattle is an interesting name for a tree. Love you photos!
