Simple Woman's Daybook ~ March 2

FOR TODAY Sunday...

Outside my window... bright pink crepe myrtle

I am thinking... I'm glad my husband excursion got cancelled for my sake, but not for his, it sounded nice, it was cancelled because of high fire danger

I am thankful for... being able to stretch the money far enough this week

From the kitchen... in the fridge is some pickled pork I cooked on Friday

I am wearing... pink sleevless shirt and darker pink board shorts, I figure the shirt covered the ugly cut of the board shorts, I wouldn't have put them together only I noticed the light pink trim and thought they would match

I am creating... a menu plan

I am going... nowhere this week, just around the place for the kids

I am reading... I have just finished Tracie Peterson's Where My Heart Belongs

I am hoping... it doesn't really get up to high temperatures again, and that the fire season finishes soon for everyone's sake

I am hearing... the TV

Around the house... meatballs being cooked

One of my favorite things...
the ribbon my dog won at the Show, it is a proper Show ribbon, very big

A few plans for the rest of the week:
enjoying some new recipes

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Hello Linda
If I remember correctly March 17th (St Pat's Day) is the day to sow your Sweet Pea seeds
They were my Mother's favourite flower
Take care
Cathy

Another great list. I have read all of Tracie's books. I enjoyed them all. Hoping the weather cools down soon there.

Well done to your family and the dog for winning a ribbon at the show. Our show this year is not having a pavilion section because of a change of location so no craft, cooking, preserving or vegetables to enter. It has disappointed my daughters a lot and a lot of other competitors and showgoers too no doubt. Perhaps next year it will be on again, hopefully.

We had the same thing happen I think two years ago because of the drought. The cancelled the whole show because the ground wasn't watered.

Thanks Cathy, should turn out to be good timing.

Scrappy, my forecast looks good.

Hi Linda

Are those your cup cakes and other baking? Well done! I might try and post a Simple Womans Day blog later although I have had a quiet weekend with no kids around at all.
This cooler weather is nice, isn't it?

Cheers - Joolz

No not mine. We only put in the jam and sauce.

It is interesting to me, as here there are no patty pan cases as such.
