We have been to the regional centre twice during the school holidays. We found discounted bare rooted trees and bought two matching quite tall ones for $25. They were an ornamental pear for shading the west facing brick wall in summer.

We used the money from taking our car that we bought in 1992 secondhand to the scrap metal place. Yes, it was sad but the benefits outweight the downsides of keeping it unfortunately. I was hoping to keep it for our second son for helping with things like bringing his food home at uni.

My jeans from ebay arrived. They are the same as my favourite old pair (well nearly). I didn't realise until they arrived that my Mum had made an adjustment in the back waist of my old pair. My husband thinks we can put the same kind of elastic in my new ones.

While at the nursery we looked at the berries, sparagus plants, it was all very interesting.

I got to see the Freedom furniture shop myself to check out the Dulux walls colours on display. One of my favourites on display was Ecru.

We plan on using the money from the registration of the car about $70 for bags of insulation in the room where we have put in extra batterns and screwed up the plaster and sanded the flaking paint. It has a heater in it, so that should help with costs.

Learn a new Skill

My husband saw an episode of Better Homes & Gardens TV (Australia) where they made lamb sausages with copha instead of fat.

We ended up using the Vietnamese mint in a salad. Hard to tell what it would have tasted like with Thai Basil as well, but it was unusual and nice.
