Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Saturday was shocking, lots of rain, it is a wonder we didn't have another flood. The local newspaper showed a lady who now rows her kids to the other side so they can catch the bus as the bridge is out

Things that make me happy:
watching Never Say Never that features Justin Bieber, very encouraging

Book I am reading:
I have finished A Place Called Morning by Ann Tatlock. It is a lovely book for my age group

What I am enjoying on TV:
Good Chef, Bad Chef with Janella Purcell

On the menu for dinner:
Black-eyed Bean & Vegetable Soup

On my To Do list:
to write a grocery shopping list, all the usual angst about where to shop, if I should do it, how much money to spend, how much trouble to go to, who to take, can't say I like it

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
Vegetable Slice with Asparagus Salad

In the craft basket:
nothing, my eldest daughter is still sewing a quilt square, two of them have been working on their own squares, herself and a friend

Looking forward to this week:
getting the lawn mown, so we can paint! Not sure when that will happen, so glad for the holiday for Melbourne Cup, we used to have Snow Day instead, seriously

Tips and tricks:
try some pink tritonia bulbs, they are a joy. I was surprised at my other house there is a very pretty clump, better than watsonia and ixia or candy chimes

My favourite blog post this week:
It's only words...and words are all I have

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):
no new blogs

No words needed: flygrass, I love flygrass, you find it in places where you find other native things here. This was taken yesterday on the way to our other house

Lesson learned the past few days:
just learning how to not upset people in my house, I think being with them and not talking much seems to work

On my mind:
just tired

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
2 Timothy 1:7 I keep forgetting one of the words
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

Lovely to "visit" with you & hear about your week! Well done to your daughter for doing quilting squares - something I would love to try one day when I'm brave enough!!!
Hope you have a lovely day
