This isn't one of my love songs, it just sounds nice. I often don't get the details of stuff like this. Apparently it is "A song Jackie describes as an 'anthem' for her in learning to give up resistance to the things we cannot change."

Sweet Autumn

My daughter called this photo sweet autumn in her album. It is a photo she altered of herself at her friends house last weekend.

Things that make me happy:
the butterflies in the garden at the moment

Book I am reading:
haven't been interested in reading lately

What I am enjoying on TV:
same, I did watch a lovely show probably on Wednesday of Selling Houses Australia Extreme where they got a shed officially a house so it could be sold

On the menu for dinner:
Warm Potato & Capsicum Salad

On my To Do list:
finalise a shopping list for tomorrow, so we make it till our real pay day

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
Salmon & Vegetable Pasta

In the craft basket:
same curtains!

Looking forward to this week:
just a normal everyday week. My daughter is coming home from her weekend away after her after school activity tonight, I guess it will be less peaceful then

Tips and tricks:
my daughters wedding dress for her art project was too small to zip up. My Mum suggested taking the zip out and sewing it back in. There was some material extra folded back. My husband has taken the zip out so maybe tonight he can put it back in for her to take photos. It was funny Mum gave her some horseshoes from the op-shop and she had one over either arm

My favourite blog post this week:
Keys to Love

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):
cathy@home, Simply Kubbutz, I used to be fascinated by kubbutzs when I was a teenager. This lady is Welsh and the blog lovely

No words needed: sometimes the view is nice, I think I have been missing some

Lesson learned the past few days:
that perhaps in middle age time should be spent renewing friendships and investing time in new people. Statistically we need more in the future, that we would now, take opportunities that come along to make or renew friends as they arise

On my mind:
why I am so ratty, best for forget about it, and rest and take things more slowly particularly thinking lol

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
nothing atm

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Thursday...

Outside my window... it has been raining. My arch with Renae Rose is covered in pink flowers

I am thinking... how blogs and blog friends are so vital, what would we do without that constant?

I am thankful for... my Mum buying a smaller wedding dress from the op-shop for my daughter's art project, plus extras like flowers, horseshoes, and apparently the teacher gave her some tulle. Mum gave me sewing instructions for a veil

I am wearing... the top I found in the wardrobe, it is great for this middle weather. We don't usually get much of that here. I think it is because I was inside where it is cooler

I am remembering... that my daughter did well at the Show with her photography

I am going... no where. Which is good as my back is bad, but I survive because it is more in my leg, however I am worried it should be healing by now

I am reading... nothing

I am hoping... to have Jerusalem Artichoke soup when my husband brings back some from the other house, maybe I should take a pic of our first harvest of them for years and finish my back to basics post

On my mind... my social skills. I am starting to sound like my son. Really it is hard for me sometimes. I can't see what everyone else sees, I couldn't even fix it, and it is hard work

Noticing that... my husband is sewing a dress my daughter got online so it fits better, the one her sister was wearing in the other pic from last week

Pondering these words... soon and very soon from a song by Brooke Fraser

From the kitchen... just Japanese pancakes

Around the house... the Easter daisies are blooming in the garden

One of my favourite things... Easter daisies

From my picture journal... the Show last weekend, they rang me to ask for a rabbit. In the end I got two lovely photos of them both with the rabbits

"When God Winks"

Have you ever heard the expression God Winks? I came across it on Facebook. A lovely guy who is new to the internet had it in his list of things he likes. There is a group on facebook. There is also a better video if you google.

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Friday...

Outside my window... I have no idea. It is deathly quiet and subdued lighting. Turns out it is a perfect day, but very cold inside. I don't seem to feel it too much though, which is unusual

I am thinking... how quiet it is in the house for a Friday afternoon, I am the only one home and it is after 4

I am thankful for... the fact that I scraped together enough money for us to take our little girl to the show. She is entering the Showgirl Competition. I took her to the school dentist last Wednesday in the regional centre. It was in a new place. Then I got her hair trimmed with extra layers put in, she is 9. Then I went to Pumpkin Patch to get her one more winter outfit. She mentioned the Showgirl Competition where you get dressed up and wear a hat they recommended. So we got a skirt from the Southern Belle collection I think, a t-shirt from the new range with a bow on it. She got new shoes as it is that time of year. Ended up with black boots from Myer. Then she needed a vest, found one at Valleygirl, and a straw cowgirl hat from K-mart. That was why my back was a little used last week after the driving and walking. She wanted to look oldfashioned but not in simple dress, but more country

I am wearing... a top that is usually just hanging in my cupboard. Not sure if the print is too big, but I am definitely having to buy smaller jeans. I realised if they are too loose they are not supporting my tummy, and really everywhere else doesn't look big atm

I am remembering... suddenly in the middle of all this, that I had to dash down to the Agricultural Show office with only 15 or so minutes to spare as I wanted to enter my daughter's cushion. She made it during the holidays at my Mum's house. She saw some material at Spotlight I think and they used it to make a cushion back. The front is plain and my daughter designed a longstitch pattern. I have no idea what longstitch is, so I had three ladies and I trying to work out if that was what it was. I think my daughter should get some feedback for her lovely work. Turns out I had to dash down there, the actual pavilion and put it in a craft section

I am going... eventually after draining the oil and refilling it (read $200) I am going to help take my car to the regional centre so they can fix it for free. I wish it would happen sooner rather than later

I am reading... The Road to Blessing by Penelope Wilcock. Today I am no where near in the head space as when I read the start on Amazon

I am hoping... all goes well for the show tomorrow, the weather if it is like today will be perfect

On my mind... lifestyles of people, particularly single people, real or imagined

Noticing that... it is autumn but I haven't noticed that many leaves falling yet or turning

Pondering these words... words and scriptures from the book, though I can't take it in right now

From the kitchen... Potato & Egg Salad

Around the house... bags of apples in the kitchen, roadside cross ones, which are like custard apples and gravensteins, and green apples from someone's tree. I usually find green apples too expensive to stew

One of my favourite things... listening to Eva Cassidy. I found her on youtube I think, love Autumn Leaves and I Know You By Heart, you can listen to them on grooveshark

From my picture journal... my daughter has been planning out how to enter lots of categories in the local Agricultural Show in photography so she can win I guess. This was the last bit and they had a little makeup, dressup and picture taking session after school. This was taken in the backyard
