She Only Smokes When She Drinks by Joe Nichols.

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Monday...

Outside my window... there is a parrot and it is foggy and wet

I am thinking... about Sara Storer and lyrics from the CMC Rocks cover that they posted on facebook

I am thankful for... my boys who live in the city, sometimes makes sense after I have been talking to them lol

I am wearing... skivvy, windcheater, jeans, socks. It is a warm morning today, expected to be 12 degrees

I am remembering... that my husband enjoyed his birthday yesterday

I am going... no where, just to school each day

I am reading... I just finished Cents and Sensibility by Maggie Alderson, a whole other world to me

I am hoping... the rest of the week goes smoothly, the kids are going out, which means a big trip for them, which takes organising etc. I haven't all the food bought yet for the following week, it makes me nervous lol

On my mind... bored for once, I am not usually

Noticing that... my husband looks better now that he has written his school reports two very late nights over the weekend

Pondering these words... Won't Give In, Sara Storer

From the kitchen... Crispy Bacon, Bean & Cheese Penne from recipes I pulled out of recipe+ magazines my Mum gave me, we have been having them all week

Around the house... lots of good dresses my Mum sent up for the social the girls are going to. My youngest daughter found a blue satin dress, eldest see below

One of my favourite things... my daughter's outfit for a hidden identity social this week. It is a paisley-like dress with little frill around the neckline, slim fitting, a cord jacket, suede boots, glasses with fake nose and moustache and a "mans" hat, it looks really good. We were very lucky to get just the right boots at the op-shop on Saturday, even though she is an odd size

From my picture journal... the ash in the sky when the planes were grounded, usually we can see them, before it gets dark, but around that time of night

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Monday, Queen's Birthday...

Outside my window... a beautiful day, autumn leaves

I am thinking... about a video about yobbos I watched, I'm glad it knows what the word means, often people don't seem to. It was a song about guys, very Australian

I am thankful for... having a bit of an idea what my Year 9 daughter wants to do next year, she is going to do hospitality, which is a course offered after school, but still at school, of course it makes them busy to do their other work though

I am wearing... a scarf an unbelievably cold morning inside, it is mid afternoon now the sun coming in my bedroom window where I read. It was -3 followed by a fog

I am remembering... that this week I changed over my Austar official address from our newer house back to the one we are living in. I had been putting it off. I needed to do it to change our viewing options as we no longer need programs like CBeebies or Tweenies and my daughter wanted the history channel as she is studying history at school. We are no further advanced at getting free to air though, our set top box is at the other house as analogue was turned off in May.

I am going... my daughter will be home because of a study week, and the others only at school for three days this week because of the Queen's Birthday weekend and a pupil free day for report writing, which is what my husband is doing now

I am reading... I have finished How to break your own heart by Maggie Alderson. I have read Handbags and Gladrags, and apart from the main characters both doing something naughty, the other parts of the main two characters (one in each book) could be me I think

I am hoping... my son goes well getting up early in the cold for winter semester

On my mind... it is pay week, busy again, and because today is a holiday I will be straight into it

Noticing that... my husband's birthday is this week, we have the pinata which we weren't able to achieve last year, just have to buy the lollies, which is a challenge here, a bit expensive

Pondering these words...
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. ~ Marianne Williamson from Ganeida's latest post, something I have been thinking about before I read it. Had received a letter from Hillsong about who we are as children of God, and disturbed by fb non-Christians who may belittle themselves
From the kitchen...

Around the house... we are expecting a bear costume soon

One of my favourite things... honey from Beechworth, have been eating it, need to get some more, I can't see myself doing it but I could try

From my picture journal... taken a couple of weeks ago before we had some rain

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Sunday...

Outside my window... colourful autumn leaves on my liquid ambar/gumball tree

I am thinking... how I need a cup of tea

I am thankful for... the fact that a virus I had for a week, that was responsible for feeling dizzy went away. Our daughter got it though and was actually sick. I felt dizzy the most while sitting waiting for the heater to catch, of course the heat from the fire didn't help

I am wearing... an old windcheater, pull on pants, skivvy

I am remembering... that I did reschedule my dentists appointment

I am going... no where really, just school

I am reading... I couldn't find a readalike for Maggie Alderson, so I read another of her books Handbags and Gladrags which was good as I could identify with lots about the main character's childhood, in a vague way. It is chic lit, not sure what Christian fiction I can go back to reading, will have to find something

I am hoping... a new library book comes soon

On my mind... why our new heater fan we bought four years ago but hardly used is not working all of a sudden, it is at our other house

Noticing that... the chrysanthamums match the tree

Pondering these words... just lyrics from Ol 55 and Daniel Boone and Sherbet, the videos are lovely to watch

From the kitchen... I had nachos for lunch, disappointed we didn't have the ones with zucchini. You can't tell zucchini is in them, seems to make the cheese and tomato less heavy

Around the house... a nice clean lounge, had got out a painting I got for the other house, and it looks really nice, hope to have it put up soon

One of my favourite things... my new pillowcases, that I also got for the other house and had been saving

From my picture journal...
