Menu Plan Monday ~ November 10

Monday ~ Cheesey Chicken Pasta Bake
Tuesday ~ Lamb Feta & Herb Pasta
Wednesday ~ Stir-fried Lamb, Vegetable & Noodles
Thursday ~ Sausage Casserole
Friday ~ Pork Chow Mein
Saturday ~ Mushroom & Pancetta Spaghetti
Sunday ~ Pasta with Pumpkin, Tomato & Butter Beans

Meal planning has been a struggle this week. I had to go shopping a day late, and tonight we found the freezer door had been left open. We think we saved it in time, but it didn't look like it when I opened the door!

When the freezer door is left open and the food is thawed, then you can cook everything and put it back in.

However, if it just thawing and has a little bit of frozen-ness to it, it can be refrozen.

The myth that thawed meat cannot be refrozen is not true. If it has not been left so long as to start going bad, it CAN be refrozen and there is very little difference between first and second freezing.

I know ... it's happened to me. Don't you just HATE opened freezer doors?

Hi Linda

My kids were notorious for leaving the freezer door open when they got icy poles out in summer. After screaming at them several times, they finally learned to shut the door properly or face the wrath of my tongue! :)

There you go again ...making me hungry!!

Don't you just hate it when the freezer door is left open!!! That happened to us a couple of times...and then we got a chest type, which I did not like, but the lid stayed closed.

Oh boy, that is a drag, hope nothing is spoiled otherwise you might have a lot of cooking to do to save all that stuff.

Hi Linda,
I've been popping over and reading here and there when I get a chance, but I had yet to leave you a comment to let you know. You have a lot of interesting little nuggets for thought.
And I did happen upon the explanation for your blog name. That had baffled me. Interesting explanation.
Have a great day!

Hello Linda
I can just imagine that sinking feeling you had in your stoamch when you realised the door was open
Will you have to cook it all, dump it or can you manage to refreeze some
Take care
Cathy

Hi Cathy, yes I felt unwell for a little while. We were able to save it. When we fried up one lot of sausages there were still ice crystals in them, so refroze the rest.
