Well here we are at Christmas Eve. Our kids got their presents this morning. We have to get up early and travel tomorrow. They missed the Christmas event on Animal Crossing which was yesterday here. For any with the Animal Crossing game be sure to check it out.

Last night my seven year old daughter was sitting on the verandah sewing a lavender pouch for her Nana. Hubby taught her a basic stitch and then hers were very neat I thought. It was lovely seeing her sitting with a needle.

We have been seeing a monarch butterfly in the front garden. There is no swan plant for it to lay its eggs on this year. There is on at our other house (see lily post pic) but that is no help to this particular butterly. Last night I was sitting on the lawn looking at the misty look on the hills, looking at the view.

A couple of days ago our middle daughter, was painting and said I couldn't look. My Mum when she moved last gave us all of her folk art things. Daughter painted up the clock face and put on the hands and we got it this morning. My Mum is a sewer, so the clock is a beautiful patchwork at the bottom, with a picture of notions and tape measure and A Stitch in Time at the top in country colours with a girl like Raggedy. I am so humbled by this gift. I worried about that clock in the past, isn't it lovely how clever kids can grow up to be and that you don't have to be responsible for everything yourself.

I am extremely humbled by the help our eldest and his girlfriend with the presents. They thoughtfully put in some gift tags of Santas etc. on springs, second son adored his. Everything was wrapped simply and they had thought of everything.

Eldest daughter knew her sister needed and wanted a calendar and she bought her one and she loved it. The lavender pouch was finished just minutes ago.

Linda: As we reach the shortest day of the year you reach the longest. I certainly hope you do see some Christmas lights tonight in your country. Thanks for the visit and a view into your world.
