That's My World Tuesday
These photos were taken by my husband this week in Melbourne, Victoria. In particular at the La Trobe University in Bundoora which is a northern suburb. He drove all afternoon to get there from here. In 2003 we lived just over 1/2 hour from there. My husband loves wood ducks and I love the Eastern Swap Hens. The plant in the foreground of the second photo I think is a grevillea.

Love Leanne
That is the Swamp Hen. I think they lived near our house when I was growing up, near the creek.
Thanks Dorothy.
Leanne that is interesting, I'll tell my husband.

In Australia I am not even sure most people would know what they are, but I love them.
never seen La Trobe before. Thanks for the overview.
Swamp hens are pretty birds, but have rather nasty habits of killing ducklings.
Cheers
