That's My World Tuesday

These photos were taken by my husband this week in Melbourne, Victoria. In particular at the La Trobe University in Bundoora which is a northern suburb. He drove all afternoon to get there from here. In 2003 we lived just over 1/2 hour from there. My husband loves wood ducks and I love the Eastern Swap Hens. The plant in the foreground of the second photo I think is a grevillea.

Hi there! I REALLY like your new look! I have my books on my nightstand and searched for the camera...Trapper took it to work today!! I'll get some pics when he gets back and post them by tomorrow. I liked that unusual bird in the pic...what kind is that?

Is it already Tuesday there!! It's Monday morning here. Thanks for posting these interesting pictures. I like the bird with the blue color. It's odd to see all the lush green foliage since it's all brown and bare here! Hope you have a good day!

Thanks Mrs. Bee.

That is the Swamp Hen. I think they lived near our house when I was growing up, near the creek.

Thanks Dorothy.

Leanne that is interesting, I'll tell my husband.

Leanne it is interesting that NZers love the bird.

In Australia I am not even sure most people would know what they are, but I love them.

Being an ex Melbourne uni girl I've
never seen La Trobe before. Thanks for the overview.
Swamp hens are pretty birds, but have rather nasty habits of killing ducklings.

Great photos. I think we call those birds Moorhens in SA. They can often be seen on the Torrens and other rivers in Adelaide
