These photos are from Queanbeyan, NSW. They are from the weekend, and the place looks lovely and green for mid summer. Queanbeyan is only minutes away from Canberra which is in another State, ACT.
Beautiful greenery in your shots, I appreciate them even more considering all the snow we have here right now. I added your great blog to my followers list so I can be reminded to return often, thanks for sharing.
Thanks Guy D. I happened to notice, and have been studying your snow in the street pictures.
Amanda that is very sweet. I didn't get to go this time, my husband and son went, I was trying to save money on meals to get our car fixed. They did cook a meal for themselves one night so maybe it wouldn't have been so bad. They were helping our son shift house.
For some reason I thought you may have been in SA. I haven't been to Queanbeyan itself for 14 years I think, but I hope to go later on this year.
At first I though they were photos you brought out of the archive from last summer ... but then I saw you are posting from the southern hemisphere, which makes it your summer now. Do you call it summer? Or do you call it winter like us northern hemispherians?
What lovely photos of your hometown! As I sit here it is pouring rain on a cold Jauary winter's night in Ireland and I envy our Southern Hemisphere friends! Having lived - like Lynda - south of the Equator for many years I still appreciate the upside-down seasons and miss the fires in July! Belated Happy Australia Day by the way, we used to celebrate it with our Australian friends in the embassy in Vientiane when we lived in Laos. I must make some Anzac cookies and post my recipe! ;)
Catherine is sounds like perfect weather for making Anzacs, I love oats. The photos are from my closest city, though I know Melbourne better because where we are from is closer to Melbourne.
Robert we call it summer. We call autumn autumn all the time, never Fall.
It does look remarkably green, last time we drove from Sydney through Canberrrs, Lake George was dry and kangaroos were invading Canberra suburbs looking for water.
Welcome. I am Linda, 48, from Victoria, Australia. A farmgirl who found herself in a small isolated town in a stunning location at the age of 40, an accidental treechange, after living 25 years in my beloved milltown. So now I have lived 22 years of my life in the High Country. My husband of 27 years and my daughters 15 and 10 & I try to renovate a second home, in a village. I am a stay at home Mum. Our eldest son, 23 is working in the city and second eldest son 21 and eldest daughter 18 studying there as well.

Everything does look green. I guess not ALL of Australia is suffering a terrible drought.
Great photos of your world!

That is my favourite park in Queanbeyan. It is lovely!
If I had known you were in town we could have met. Maybe next time.:)

I know we have lots in common.
Great photos! Makes one want to visit! Especially considering around here there is snow on the ground ...
Not only green, but clean and refreshing, and very peaceful. What a nice tour for all of us.

Oh this looks so different to my world right now, I'm envious!

I think the kangaroos lived there, they are amazing.
