Simple Woman's Daybook ~ April 20

FOR TODAY Friday...

Outside my window... a new view today, from a different house. A spice bush that was planning to be under that particular window in September 2007. Now it seems to be quite large and cheery looking. I look forward to seeing the flowers soon, if the buds are not already there

I am thinking... wondering how it was really like for my eldest's 21st birthday, I hope he enjoyed it

I am thankful for... I was thinking this this morning, now it seems I have forgotten.

From the kitchen... still more left-overs

I am wearing... same as last week: my good jeans and t-shirt and a very old but practical cardigan

I am creating... a winter wardrobe, just sorting, I had one bag go to the op-shop today

I am going... food shopping, back and forth

I am reading... nothing until the library gets in some more books, hopefully Tuesday

I am hoping... I am not silly about the way I have gone about the moving and managing two homes, and sales/rental or whatever we are doing

I am hearing... the keyboard being played by my second son who is 18

Around the house... the girls are assembling their beds. The first time they wanted to move their beds themselves, or rather our middle daughter, I was aghast. I let her do it though, and it has turned out handy for our move, she is quite happy taking it apart and putting it together

One of my favorite things... hopefully my new doona cover for my new room, hopefully I can afford it because it is a good match and not too expensive. I have needed a new doona cover and was waiting until I found the right one. It is on page 16 & 17 of this catalogue. It is to match this wall, but not the entry.

A few plans for the rest of the week: maybe moving the dog kennel, it is so heavy

Here is picture thought I am sharing... pineapple sage & mondo grass, we have been doing some gardening, and this is the free straw. There was a large damaged bale on the side of the road. The next day is was nearly all unrolled. We picked up some in the trailer and piled it up high.

Hi, Linda,

So have you moved closer to town? I hope you and your family enjoy the new location.

Hi Joyce,

We are moving 45km (less than 30 miles?) which takes 37 mins for some reason, probably all the bends. It is out of town, into a village type situation. There is another village further on with similar facilities. They have the better food shop, we have a hospital.

Thanks. It is very quiet, and there are a lot of native birds you usually only find in the forest.
Sounds like a pretty tiresome time moving and arranging stuff. Moving to a village, there are benefits. Like you get to really appreciate nature, hear the birds chirping, and take nature walks and the like.
