Back to Basics Challenge 41 & 42

Sowing seed or Planting

We had been planting daisies so they get more light.

Planning for The Future

My husband has worked out majors and minors for a university course for our son. He took him to an open day as well.

I bought some Ego deet free mosquito spray as my daughter is alergic to mosquito repellent and she is going to Malaysia. So far so good. I also organised somewhere for her and her Dad to stay in Melbourne. Anyone tried to find a two bedroom place to stay lately? Anyway I was talking to them not long ago and she is thrilled with where she is staying and having a good time. They are there for the trip briefing.

Doing some more thinking about the clothes for the trip. As she wears school uniform, my Mum suggested her dress wouldn't suit as she would have to wash it out each day because it is so hot. Something to think about.

I bought a spice from Red Hill Spice Girls at Foodworks, beautiful. Worked out it is nice with muesli, and have planned to make an apple & walnut muffins with baharat which could be the name for another spice I didn't know where to get.

Working for the Future

We used up, admittedly not a lot, of our homegrown frozen raspberries by making Raspberry Buttermilk Muffins on Wednesday 19th.

I read an English book that our son was studying. Learnt you can get help books from Dymocks.

Building Community

I gave a teenager a lift home from town.

Learn a new Skill

My daughter helped her Dad with the muffins he mentioned today. Why, because I was saying what a great job she did using up the buttermilk making Jam Doughnut Muffins. She is 7 and made them herself except heating the oven and putting the muffins in and taking them out. She started off her baking skills lately making herself a 5 minute chocolate cake in a mug and microwaving it. They are very hot, but she has been managing and it has provided her with afternoon tea. Sometimes I even get half. She is very generous.

The muffins were gorgeous, we have some left over for tomorrow as we are a only 2/3 thirds of our family today. You have to click on the link and view the picture for the muffins!

We found a workaround for region one dvds.
