Happy Homemaker Monday

hhm

I started this post 20 days ago!

The weather in my neck of the woods:
Very pleasant, cool to cold in the morning and mild days

One of my simple pleasures:
bearded irises and grannies bonnets

On my bedside table:
Hopefully something tomorrow

On my TV:
Good Chef, Bad Chef, Kirstie's Homemade Home, Location Location Location

On the menu for tonight:
A soup with prosciutto in it

On my To Do list:
To work out how to make my daughter's birthday special, I accidently booked a day out that day for her sisters and brother, maybe we could make that work

New Recipe I tried last week:
Chinese Cabbage & Lamb Stir-fry

In the craft basket:
Nothing that I know of

Looking forward to:
Things falling into place for next year, even the end of this year, a busy time in Australia

Homemaking Tip for this week:
If you have a child going overseas, create a Facebook account for yourself

Favorite Blog Post of the week (mine or other):
"All I will ask you to do is to try and enjoy these times that you get to be a full-time homemaker, serving your husband as you serve the Lord, for whenever the Lord decides to take your husband to heaven, you won't have that opportunity anymore . . . it's a sobering thought, but it's a thought I think about when I feel that I am "going crazy" without "more to do." It also makes me feel more grateful and content to the Lord for my current blessings."

Favorite photo from last week: another photo my daughter took in Kuala Lumpur recently.

Lesson learned the past few days:
Tender Graces are a very sweet thought, it comes from the novel below and is about John 1:16 "From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another." and

Break, break, break
At the foot of thy crags, O Sea!
But the tender grace of a day that is dead
Will never come back to me. ~ Tennyson

On my Prayer List:
I can't remember

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
John as written in Jackina Stark's Tender Grace.
Learning about A W Pink, any thoughts?

Thanks, Linda, for mentioning my blog. Actually, I didn't write that...a frequent commenter to my blog wrote it in the comments section of that post, and it WAS good, wasn't it?

BTW, you can really tell the seasons are different where you are. We have had 2 snows already -- before the leaves even started turning. It was beautiful to see the white snow on the brilliant green trees and grass. Reminded me of a Spearmint Gum commercial.

Hi, Linda,
I treasure the reminder to love and serve our dear ones while they (and we) are in the land of the living.

The quote from Tennyson is putting me in a poetry-reading mood. :)
