Sowing seed or Planting

My husband is growing garlic in a pot from some he was given. He is very happy about it. I didn't know it was on the front verandah.

Planning for The Future

I have a plan to get some lights at Ikea, the last three for the house. One is $5 and the other two $19. I will enjoy visiting there, there is only one shop now, in Richmond.

Working for the Future

While my husband was at the tip today he found some pine boards as long as could fit in the trailer. I think this is amazing. I have been wanting them for a long time. The skirting boards of our other house were ruined in places when renovating and I really want them put back. My husband and I have a bet that the new ones from the tip may or may not fit. These are for the dining room and around the bath, and near the new shower. Also the bathroom near the new cabinet. He wanted pine, and that is what was at the tip. Yes, he has a mental blank about skirting boards, and if they are OK, it will get us past this hump that I am worried about, especially since the house is going on the market very soon with any luck.

Previously the girls went to the tip, and they found a trampoline, nothing was wrong with it. They have been having fun playing outside which is something they don't usually do.



Building Community

Because I went to the effort of going to my high school reunion and bought an outfit for it, it has come in handy for going to other things and feeling my best. This seems to have had a positive effect. I have been to my hometown twice since the reunion for the dentist. So the last time I was able to take in the atmosphere and see people, well one or two that I am familiar with. I don't know a lot of people here. I did go to the bank this week, and one lady said they hadn't seen me for awhile and that made me happy.

I enjoyed reading the local paper this week. It said that we have restumping services available at the moment which is good as they have worked next door and I was upset we didn't get their name. Also that we are getting a chiropractor in the next few weeks, and a appliance service repairman. Usually these mostly end up at the tip. The regional centre is 1 1/2 hours away. The place we use is 2 1/4 hours away. Maybe we can get some help for our freezer. It needs constant defrosting.

Learn a new Skill

We have been borrowing quilting videos and books. Learnt how to make quesadillas, or rather my husband did.
