Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Monday, Queen's Birthday...

Outside my window... a beautiful day, autumn leaves

I am thinking... about a video about yobbos I watched, I'm glad it knows what the word means, often people don't seem to. It was a song about guys, very Australian

I am thankful for... having a bit of an idea what my Year 9 daughter wants to do next year, she is going to do hospitality, which is a course offered after school, but still at school, of course it makes them busy to do their other work though

I am wearing... a scarf an unbelievably cold morning inside, it is mid afternoon now the sun coming in my bedroom window where I read. It was -3 followed by a fog

I am remembering... that this week I changed over my Austar official address from our newer house back to the one we are living in. I had been putting it off. I needed to do it to change our viewing options as we no longer need programs like CBeebies or Tweenies and my daughter wanted the history channel as she is studying history at school. We are no further advanced at getting free to air though, our set top box is at the other house as analogue was turned off in May.

I am going... my daughter will be home because of a study week, and the others only at school for three days this week because of the Queen's Birthday weekend and a pupil free day for report writing, which is what my husband is doing now

I am reading... I have finished How to break your own heart by Maggie Alderson. I have read Handbags and Gladrags, and apart from the main characters both doing something naughty, the other parts of the main two characters (one in each book) could be me I think

I am hoping... my son goes well getting up early in the cold for winter semester

On my mind... it is pay week, busy again, and because today is a holiday I will be straight into it

Noticing that... my husband's birthday is this week, we have the pinata which we weren't able to achieve last year, just have to buy the lollies, which is a challenge here, a bit expensive

Pondering these words...
We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. ~ Marianne Williamson from Ganeida's latest post, something I have been thinking about before I read it. Had received a letter from Hillsong about who we are as children of God, and disturbed by fb non-Christians who may belittle themselves
From the kitchen...

Around the house... we are expecting a bear costume soon

One of my favourite things... honey from Beechworth, have been eating it, need to get some more, I can't see myself doing it but I could try

From my picture journal... taken a couple of weeks ago before we had some rain

Must be refreshing to be free of tv for a while though?

Hi Bwendo, thanks for visiting my blog. I don't miss free to air really. I am not sure how long it is since I have watched it, maybe a couple of years? I just find it difficult. My friends on facebook are people from my hometown where I went to highschool and they watch it, I feel a bit silly. They mentioned the Coles Ad and I watched it on Youtube, I don't miss all that kind of thing, you are right. I just don't know what they are doing, like at my other house my daughter was aware that the supercars were on, I wasn't and two of my friends love watching supercars. I can check the tv guide on the internet though and keep up with the football on the clubs fb pages. I suppose it is a Victorian thing.
