Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Wednesday...

Outside my window... I was watching an airplane out my window on a blue sky while combing my hair, I am blessed

I am thinking... how I may like playing Gardens of Time on fb, I only play one game and wasn't keen to start another but it looks good chosing things that are not old (I think it is not my style though)

I am thankful for... that more people like me than I expect, it makes such a difference. Also that my daughter is learning piano again, it meant a lot to me, my main upset about moving from my hometown

I am wearing... I have been wearing an old orange windcheater, but will wear my good jumper when I go out today

I am remembering... that my son is going for a promotion in the public service, he is unsure if he is ready yet

I am going... yes the dentist, but I may reschedule

I am reading... Justin Bieber's book. It is very exciting. Very positive, I recommend it to any Christian, you will find it will bless you, I guess though it is just the right thing for me at the right time. Also my husband may have been near where Justin comes from and I have a friend from Ontario so it is especially nice

I am hoping... I get six meals worked out to last until pay day with the money we have left. I have a menu but I may have to modify it, need a good basic list, we have bread and all those things already

On my mind... why I feel hot and dizzy, I hope it goes away soon

Noticing that... my son is making a bit of an effort to study for his maths exams at uni

Pondering these words... I was lucky enough to find a radio show about a novel I loved reading recently called Shall We Dance by Maggie Alderson. I am looking for readalikes. Lovely listening here. Remember the book is about vintage and the lead character is 49

From the kitchen... we had zucchini pancakes. My husband is becoming an expert on vegetable pancakes, and it was made more in the vegetarian Japanese style in the end, as they can be a bit thin, the normal ones and not filling enough. Always lovely with whatever salad the Taste site puts with them like these ones which we left as they were I think

Around the house... there is a tripod, my daughter has learnt a lot about cameras during her art project

One of my favourite things... asking the hairdresser to change the way the bottom of my hair is cut, I really like it, I sort of thought of something Trinny & Susannah said

From my picture journal... taken on Saturday it hasn't rained for awhile, though it did yesterday and today

The Rapture

The End of the World Is for Tomorrow Giclee Print

I am using my blog as a place to connect with likeminded people today. Did anyone else feel a bit strange with all this talk of the rapture?

I haven't seen anything on the news as I don't watch it. I logged on to facebook yesterday and today and some non-Christians and one Christian made a reference to it.

Australians talking about The Rapture on facebook? You can see why I am a little confused lol. And as a Pentecostal who was raised on this doctrine, are you supposed to feel left out or left behind? No it is supposed to be a surprise, I think.

So how many churches of that belief do you think had a sermon on it this morning to unconfuse people such as myself, I am easily confused anyway. Of course if I was going to church all along I probably wouldn't need debriefing.

Then my husband mentioned something that happened that lots of Americans died in when someone burned a Mormon bible? How many Christians could be upset about the rapture prediction?

Happy Homemaker Monday

The weather in my neck of the woods:
it is a gorgeous day today Tuesday. It is midday and only still 10 degrees C at 11 am but it is lovely. The colour of the mountain and the sky together is beautiful. Last night twilight and a beautiful silvery moon

Things that make me happy:
I have been looking at photos from about five years ago. At some point I forgot to be worried about how my kids and ourselves all don't live together, all 7 of us anymore. I could see that so much life has been lived since we moved from our hometown, and that in that time I must have done a lot of mothering. It the process of accepting that my eldest left home to go to school, now I had gone the other way and forgotten it all lol.

Book I am reading:
nothing atm, trying just to think and be and stay warm and recover from my tooth extraction

What I am enjoying on TV:
I actually got to see Fireproof the movie. Had been wanting to see it for a very long time and it was near the start when I was very bored and had nothing to do and I came across it on the Christian Channel on TV, which I don't usually check. I didn't feel like watching the other things. After that I watched The Waltons as well lol

On the menu for dinner:
Meatballs. I am doing meatballs twice, once a recipe I saw on TV the other with a creamy sauce, so I am doing low-fat for the rest of the week to compensate lol. It seems like you need less meat because of the zucchini, but we will see lol.
Spiced Meatballs in Cream Sauce

On my To Do list:
to go and buy a firebrick for the heater

New Recipe I tried or want to try soon:
Stir-fried Vegetables on Asian Style Coconut and Pumpkin Polenta
I don't have the right vegetables but I think it is worth a try

In the craft basket:
curtains are finished!

Looking forward to this week:
going to the shops, I wasn't in the mood the day my tooth was taken out so I feel like it has been given back to me, provided I have enough money to go there

Tips and tricks:

My favourite blog post this week:
Guest post from Ganeida on the Quaker Stop
Hardening of the Oughteries
Love is in the Air

Blog Hopping (a new discovered blog you would like to share with the readers):
not much hopping going on here lol

No words needed:

Lesson learned the past few days:

On my mind:

Devotionals, Scripture Reading, Key Verses:
see above

Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY Tuesday... and finished Saturday

Outside my window... it is a nice day but very very quiet

I am thinking... facebook can be difficult sometimes. Is there anyone at all who doesn't have trouble with it?

I am thankful for... the fact that last Friday my tooth partially fell out. It was the one that I have been stressing about for a year and was going to ask the dentist about at my scheduled appointment for a filling yesterday. My dentist was on call and yesterday the dentist that was supposed to do the filling took the tooth out. I feel tired, but blessed. I had the money, the appointment and it is all over now. I had a big day, 9 hours I was out, feel a little tired now actually.

It was all a miracle I was stressed from what my daughter was teasing me about while eating a pizza because my husband was home late from a business trip. The pizza just popped it out.

I am wearing... my new jeans and some older clothes. Polar fleece top that is a boxy shape, but it works as clothes. The reunion reminded me of my humble roots at school and how proud I am to belong, so I am not as stressed about clothes. I have since put on a jacket, it is very cold in here, -3 degrees C last night and tomorrow a cold day after a warmer night, only 11 during the day

I am remembering... that I got my hair trimmed on time, at exactly 6 weeks, so I am happy about that!

I am going... no where, just resting

I am reading... how it may snow tonight on the mountain. There was no or very little snow on the mountain yesterday when driving home. Usually there is a view on some roads, and I had a look

I am hoping... I don't have black or puffy eyes tomorrow, they are starting to close slightly from the tooth extraction

On my mind... the TV was turned off locally onto the set top boxes, we use Austar but there is no TV for my husband to watch when he goes to the other house to work. That town is going onto Imparja

Noticing that... I still feel tired and sometimes weepy from my tooth extraction, it is very strange

Pondering these words... the words from Johnny Cash song I Love You Because from Tania's post comments at Outback

From the kitchen... picking chives from our other house today for Cauliflower, Bacon & Split Pea Soup

Around the house... a new dress up, in a large size, for 50c at the op-shop yesterday, seems like forever ago

One of my favourite things... the perfume sample White Heat. I went back to the shop I got it from but they don't actually stock it. I think it's real name is Zen, so I may try again

From my picture journal... the lemon tree taken by my daughter who has been using a tripod
